11-15-2009Check transmission fluid, then Pull off engine compartment lid from interior to check oil pressure sensor
AB*Removed engine cover lid.check oil pressure-55lbs & sensor-Problem is wire or gauge.transmission fliud-Too much added-foaming-needs oil have some fluid removed
-photo update
AB*-Checked the radiator to see if I find transmission oil in water-I found the problem. The transmission resivour that is built in the radiator has rotted through the cooling system of the radiator. I removed with a special tool through the dipstick housing the extra oil that is in the vehicle and test drove the vehicle. It works much better, but still is sluggish. I than drained the transmission oil from the transmission. The torque converter did not have a drain plug, so after removing starter and the cover plate for transmission one was created to drain all the nasty oil out of it. I did take some new pictures I will keep you up to date here as I move forward. The cost of the original temperature gauge cost $95.00 deduct 15% discount (platinum member). I also removed the instrument cluster on the dash to inspect the wires. I needed to do this to find a power supply for installing the lights for the new gauge. More parts were purchase today-drain plug and the transmission filter pan gasket kit
-photo update.
while in the RAIN Today-B-Replace the transmission filter and clean the pan. Install the new filter and clean pan.
Drove to Lowes Hardware to obtain some new fittings for the oil cooler and bought the new oil cooler. More Heavy rain stopped me from continuing . I bought some new drilling tools to do this job. I have to drill through the bumper support for the cooler lines to go through
Tap new threads in torque converter and install new Torque Converter plug (light weight). Reinstall cover plate, starter and engine to transmission support brackets . ( I need a lift so bad-so tired of crawling under jack stands)
Add new Cooler to back side of radiator
-Back hoe Tractor work instead which was blocking road.
-add oil cooler fittings, add transmission Fluid, test for leaks-ok
Reinstall instrument cluster again. Attach new lead wire for new oil pressure guage/
The brake drum on the left rear side was keeping the car from moving. It took me a half an hour to remove it from the vehicle. The rain is keeping me from working on the vehicle.
-Temporarly Install rear tire without the drum and drive vehicle into body shop to be completely out of the weather. While moving vehicle similar driving experiences occured with the transmission (sluggish).
-Planning on working on left rear brake issue inside shop over the weekend.
11-08-2009-Found problem. The front emergency brake cable is jammed and needs to be replace. I called the owner and he just wanted the brakes shoes backed off and not replace the damaged parts. The rear brake shoes are very close the rivets and they should be replace, but again owner said he will tell the new buyer that these parts are needed within the next +/-500 miles (estimate). The rear Drum will be reinstalled soon this week and work will continue where I left off in the engine compartment and interior
11-12-2009-A<> conflicting distractions with other issues beyond my control at the shop
~~~ I Plan on continuing work on exhaust leak on air pump~finish the gauge, then tackle the transmission issue.
