After the 99 Jeep is finished today I plan on raising the vehicle and remove the brake drums to inspect the brakes

Upload photos. The brake shoes are in good. The brake parts do look new, but further inspection is needed to see if brake cylinders can be honed out. The wheel bearings and the drums have not been checked for out.

Removed the brake master cylinder and disassembled it.

Remove the hood from vehicle. Remove on driver side: Both front and rear door handles, Inner door handles, window handles, Both garnish moldings, trim panels, door regulators, both door glasses. The left rear door has body damage that is hidden by body filler circled by a red line. Previous body shop person did not do a very good job of roughing out the sheet metal, rather just fill in with filler. There are signs of Holes that were drilled in rear door panel, not sure if you can see the damage in photo through the inner left rear door, about 30 or so holes were drilled. The sheet metal will need a lot of roughing out later. All parts were labeled and placed on shelves.

-Remove brake shoes and temporally install brake drums and tires, remove. Moved vehicle 20ft forward to allow more working space in front of garage main door-No charge for doing this operation.

-Picked up reconditioned Brake Master Cylinder from Machine Shop owner before church services. The new brass sleeve looks good. Photos have been taken, just been having computer problems. The Cylinder housing needs to be media blasted and will be coated with a bonding agent and than new rubber parts will be placed on the ordering list of things to purchase

-Removed front and rear bumpers, torch was required to remove rusted carriage bolts. Removed all doors and headlamp assemblies from vehicle. Photo updated

Raised Rear of vehicle again. Removed both Rear Fenders, Gas tank filler neck,brake light assembly, store batteries & items on shelves that were in boxes. Remove and store both seat bottoms, vacuum out trunk, remove trunk kick panel and spare tire support. Photo update.

-After moving stored and not related parts to car in front of Plymouth I placed some lights under and in front of Plymouth.

-Removed Left front fender assembly, removed right inner wheel well panel, followed by right fender. Removed both Headlamp brackets on fenders. Removed Fan blades, belt and pulley. Removed radiator support rods and nose panel along with engine splash shields. Photo update

-Scrape down grit and grime from steering column connections to frame, soak with penetrating oil rusty mounting bolts and pedal mountings.

-Removed the pedal assembly mounting. Label and remove the entire wiring harness from vehicle, remove Heater switch, Ignition switch, choke & Throttle cables, Throttle linkage, Head lamp relay, speedometer cable and Head, Light switch, Ignition coil, Over head light switch and light. Photo update!

A few body to frame bolts have been removed.

-Clean around and underneath vehicle. Store steering column and hood.

Finish removing all Body to Chassis mounting bolts that remain and anything else that is in the way of lifting the body off frame. Many were too rusty and had to be torched off. Remove the front seat and both loose patch floor panels. After closer inspection the body will need additional support because the rocker panels and side pillars are rusted out and weak. New metal jig bracing will be welded in next before lifting body off frame. Photo update!

10:00am Business Meeting.Back in late September I was stricken by a zoning ordinance to store vehicles and to remove the junk that was collected on the property so operation have slowed dramatically and I will do what I can do on all the vehicles while clearing land where the new building will stand. I will hire a crew to do the building, but I will still have to drain all fluids, if any on those vehicles that will be stored. By owners request he wanted me to write the flow of future work on the 36th Plymouth. It has change since now I have stored vehicles in the current shop around where the 36 Plymouth is parked. The engine,transmission and drive shaft will be removed starting on 08-18-2010C so that the entire left over assembly will be lighter to handle. Than the 86 Plymouth Horizon will be taken out of the shop. this will expose the right side of the 36 Plymouth to have the fluids drained. Next the bracing work will begin on the 36 Plymouth body. My engine hoist will than come in and lift the rear of the body and place it on a steel horse work bench around the chassis, followed by doing the same thing in the front. This will allow me to roll the chassis away from the body from underneath. The chassis will be rolled outside where the heavy dirt and grime will be removed at a later date. Next I will assemble the new Auto Rotisserie that I have purchased. It came unpainted, so this will be done to the new tools. After pieces are painted the rotisserie will be assembled . I will fabricate new custom brackets that will fit on the underside of vehicles body to the rotisserie to be fitted at a later date. I will than fabricate off road brackets on the rotisserie and attach off road rubber tires so it will be able to travel to the blasting booth outside in the future. Than I'll focus my attention on the chassis and start removing parts during the removal of the grit and grime while the body sits on the steel horses. followed by doing the same thing to the engine, transmission etc.. On rainy days templates will be of rusted body parts if replacement parts can't be found. After the templates have been made fabrication of these custom pieces will be made and mocked up to make sure they will fit a best as possible before blasting the body while its on the steel horses. Focus will now be on the chassis removing grit,grime and all parts. When the frame is expose it will be mounted on the rotisserie and moved into the blasting booth. After it is blasted it will be coated with a anti-rust inhibitor, then bonded with a heavy duty chassis paint while it is still in blasting booth. The pieces that were attached to the frame will have the same operation but will be bonded with the proper color paint. The frame will than be moved into the body shop to prepare for reassembly. A new parts order will be start and ordered. Anything that was attached to the frame will be repaired & restored or if needed replaced until everything is completed installed back into the chassis, including engine and transmission. The focus will than be on the body work, painting,installing body on chassis, installing glass followed by doing the interior work I will continue this power flow of operation at a later date as I have an appointment I have to be at on 08-18-2010

Removed the horn from engine,driveshaft, Hand Brake assembly, Stick shift cover plate, exhaust down pipe, fuel line, front engine mounts connections, transmission mounts connections. Attach engine hoist to transmission/engine and remove as an assembly out of the vehicle.

-36 Plymouth removed: Wiper motor and lines,sunroof wooden support,both threshold panels,glove box liner & door,Heater core & blower motor assembly,All Firewall Hardware,body Identification plates and inner cowl insulation,All small headliner guide rods, windshield crank handle and transmission which by the way is broken, more interior trim and lacing, Entire exhaust pipe, all door lock rubber bumpers and door guides on center pillar, expose air vent-still in the process of removal, one half of steering column bracket, radio antenna

-I removed both gas tank straps, left and right rear door swing out levers, loosen all security tabs and removed all the security rope around all the doors that the interior trim lace attaches to. Remove front,center and rear headliner bows, than label stuff. BC*^ Prepare 36 body for transport. Add nine hold down fasteners from body to frame and secure. Sweep out all dirt clogs and other loose objects from welding torch from vehicle. Check oil level in differential and top with gear oil, Torque axle nuts and wheel lug bolts in the rear and torque front wheel lug bolts. Secure part of the steering linkage and some brake lines.

Last night I moved some cars around so I could access the engine & transmission. Currently an engine hoist is picking up engine & Transmission and setting it on a dolly so it can be easy to move around. After this is done I will be removing chrome pieces from Nose panel and hood, then later I will take these parts to Eds

Separated hood into two pieces so chrome piece in center can be replaced or rechromed. I removed the stainless steel mouldings from hood and the nose piece. The grille was also removed. The hood parts, nose piece have been loaded up in van to take to Ed's. Working on Invoice#6 that will be mailed to you soon.

-2 piece hood panels and nose piece were delivered to Ed.. Invoice #6 is completed and will be in the main on the 12th. At this point as I continue to view the work that has being done with one of Ed's employee. I do not want to continue my reviews because I would have done things a different way. If the undercoating doesn't bubble up and the finish top coat paint holds up for over 10 years, than what does my opinion matter anyways! By the way for the record Ed said that he had a battery tray and cover box lid for the battery. I told him that I have these things of yours. He told me that he was going to use his, so I hope he is not going to charge you for it!

Deliver running boards to Eds along with center piece of hood. Ed asked me what I thought of the progress of the vehicle. Most of the parts have be mocked up to make sure everything fits except for a few pieces. The exterior was never media basted and was primed over.

1-22-2012-Ray comes over and now wants the entire project to be over to Eds, because I have fallen further behind with things that have happened beyond my control.

02-16-2012-assemble transmission housing back to engine, hand tighten bolts. Install back the stick shift & cover plate. Set up engine hosit over engine and transmission and move entire assemble outdoors. Cover engine and transmission with a cover until I can load it all up in my truck. I called Eddy today. He said he wasn't ready to receive all that just yet and that he we call me next week.
